Cambridge Exams
This course is aimed at the people who are planning to prepare for the Cambridge exams.
Cambridge exams correspond to the CEFR levels which means that you can sit exams from A1 to C2. In European countries, students start to do these exams in their childhood - these are YLE (Young Learners) exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers) for primary school students. This way, children get used to participating in such exams and feel less stressed when they become older and prepare for higher-level examinations, also by this time they have become familiar with the format of the exams - multiple choice questions, true/false tasks etc.
PET (Preliminary English Test) corresponds to B1 and is a popular test among teenagers since it demonstrates the fact that a student has mastered the basics of the English language. The preparation for this test is a good foundation for the first serious test - First Certificate in English (FCE), В2 level, due to the fact that the structure of these tests is similar.
The course includes:
- minimum 2 mock exams having done which you will find out what your chances in the real exam are;
- examination structure analysis - all 4 papers - and learning the strategies for dealing with each oth the tasks which will help you save time during the exam itself (in listening and reading papers) and improve your results;
- practice in writing texts of various formats and genres - formal/informal letters, several types of essays etc - learning about what criteria of assessment exist and how to receive the highest score in each of them;
- grammar presentations and additional materials to practise it.
At the moment, courses helping to prepare for PET (B1), FCE (B2) and are available.
